A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

I have created this game based on the board game called Food Chain Magnate. It is my first game and I have spent 2 years developing. It should not have any gameplay bugs, but it does not have sound and there are some UI bugs. Everything was done using assets and some of the art of the cards were done using AI.

You are the CEO of food chain fast food and you need to produce and delivery the food demand by the clients in the map. You win the game when you reach 5 stars and lose the game if you reach 0 stars or is not able to pay your employees at the end of Friday.

Controls:

  • WASD to move the camera.
  • QE to rotate the camera.
  • R to open/close the discard pile.
  • Y to open/close the deck pile.
  • O to open the overtime screen.
  • T to end the morning and go the night shift.
  • LMB to click on buttons and houses/building to see their status.
  • RMB to deselect a card selected in hand.
  • MMB to adjust the zoom.
  • Space to reset the camera to its starting position.
  • ESC to pause the game and open the settings menu.

You start the game with 1 star, $40 and it is Mon, 1st. Your hand of cards can hold up to 5 cards. Your initial deck is:

  1. CEO (you).
  2. Delivery boy x2.
  3. Novice Cook x2.
  4. HR Assistent x2.
  5. Waitress x2.

The game has two phases:

  • Morning.
  • Night.

At the start of the morning shift,  you draw two cards from the deck of employees. You can manage at most 5 employees (cards) in your hand. You can play as many card as you want in your hand. Each card has a keyword that does something.

  • Cook > Produces Hamburgers or Pizzas. This is how you generate food.
  • Deliver > Generate energy to spent on delivery. This is how you delivery to houses and buildings.
  • Server > You spend a food you have stored and draw a card and earn $10 for each food spent this way.
  • Hire > You hire new employees from the job market according to your star level. Stronger employees are available at a higher star rating. The new employee card goes to the top of the deck.
  • Manager > Draw a number of cards from the deck and discard that same number.
  • Fire > Remove permanently a card from the game (except for the CEO).

To play a card, LMB at the card to select the card and LMB again to play the card. The card does its effects and goes to the discard pile. After a card is selected (LMB), you can RMB to deselect a card.

You can also, once each morning shift, make an employee do "overtime". Overtime is just replaying the card from the discard pile. The CEO cannot do Overtime. The cost for the overtime is twice the employee's salary.

All resources generated at the morning shift (food, energy and cards in hand) are kept between shifts.

When you end the night shift (end turn or "T"), the night shift begins.

  • If it is Friday, you need to pay the salary of all your employees in the deck, hand and discard pile.
  • All houses/buildings at distance equals to the star rating from the Restaurant are going to demand food (if they do not have it already).
  • If the house/building already has a demand, its patient is going decrease (each customer is going to wait up to 3 days - green > yellow > red).
  • If the customer is at red, he is going give up and penalize the restaurant star rating.

To make delivery you need:

  • A customer with a demand.
  • The combination of foods demand by the customer.
  • And the energy required to delivery there.

To check the customer status, LMB at the customer to open and close the status windows.

When you deliver to the customer, you earn $10 for each food and star rating according to the distance from the restaurant. Customer further away from the restaurant gives the player more star ratings.

Building are special customers that needs to be activated by doing market. To do a marketing, you need to spent energy equal to the customer distance from the restaurant and send an employee the building (removed from the game, the CEO cannot do marketing). The marketing is done only once in the game and it gives the player a special action, passive power or income of money. 

  • Lvl 4 marketing > makes an immediate delivery of everything the player has, earning double money and double star rating.
  • Lvl 3 marketing > the player no longer loses star rating.
  • Lvl 2 marketing > the building does not activate, but it starts generating 20 money per day for the player.
  • Lvl 1 marketing > the building acts like a house (a normal customer).

You win the game when you reach 5 stars.
